I was in there scheduling my car for a service visit tomorrow. I hope they lighten up a bit. They are going to check out the other problems, but my cabin filter is clogged, causing the A/C to stink. However, it is only covered every 2 years under the maintenance plan (even the 100k plan that I have). So despite being worn out, it is only going to be "maintained" when MINI says so. They will sell me one at full retail of $50, though. It makes me wonder how they will treat other maintenance items.
Plus, "no loaner cars are available because they are new" despite a whole lot full of new/used MINIs and BMWs and sister dealership next door that does loaners everyday. Needless to say, I'm not impressed at this point.

Well, guess they need to work kink's out of there service department. Give them a few weeks and everyone report on their experiences so we can keep track.

OK. I was back over there today and the overall attitudes (mine and theirs) seemed better. Part of my original perception may be due to the speeding ticket I got a few hundred yards before I got there yesterday. Anyway, Century MINI performed my first "full service" which messed up the microfilter replacement. Century MINI only changed the oil at 18k miles, but they checked full service which includes the cabin filter though it was not replaced. Therefore, I have to wait until the next computer-determined oil change to get the cabin filter for "free". I will just order one. However, they did replace the front brakes, checked everything, and have a plan to correct a couple of other issues. Car was washed and vacuumed prior to pick-up. It is MUCH better than driving to SC or Nashville so I am going to give them a chance.

Mine is over there today for service. I'm in need of an oil change, but since I reset the light a couple months ago the computer doesn't say I need an oil change. Granted I haven't ever gotten a MINI dealer oil change, hopefully they will do it under the atleast 1 a year guideline. I'll be disapointed if I can't get an oil change just because I reset the light. They are going to look at my passenger airbag light as well so hopefully we can get that fixed too. The drop off and log in process went well though and everyone was friendly, so I'm sure it will be fine going forward.

How did the service call go? Do they offer a loner?

Well, I think that being new they are a little unsure about what is and is not covered and when. I asked for an oil change as well as any other required service under the service gaurantee. I have never had an oil change done under the service gaurantee so for me it was a no brainer. However, they said they could not do the oil change because the computer didn't say I needed it. I reset the computer a few months back as I was getting tired of seeing it, even though I do my own oil changes. So they just did the vehicle checks and didn't actually do anything. However, after I requested the oil change again since I hadn't had any done by them, and am due one atleast once a year per the owners manual they contacted me today and said they got approval for the oil change and I'll take it back Monday. I'm also going to try to get them to flush and refill my brake fluid as the manual says it should be done once every 2 years, and they haven't done it before. As for a loaner I neither asked for one, or was offered a loaner. So I don't know if they have them or what the policy is, I just had a friend pick me up. Hopefully they will pull it together and get a bit smoother as they learn the policies and other stuff. I'll say my impression was that they will not be mod friendly in terms of service and warranty. As some may know some dealers are more mod friendly than others, looking over mods and still doing work without too much push back, while other dealers will not touch a broken part near a mod. As my example, I have a CEL because my turboback exhaust doesn't agree with the ECU, they siad they would look at it and fix it but I said not to worry with it I know whats causing it. They called me later and said that it might be because of my exhaust and there was nothing they could do. Which is fine there is nothing to do, just made me think they might not be too mod friendly right now; more of a by the book only place.

That's really too bad. I came from a mod friendly dealer (Vista Mini) and they even did some mods for me at a reasonable price. Looks like when non-warranted work is needed we should keep going to Eurohaus or whatever vendor melts your butter.

Yeah I plan on using Robert for stuff I can't do, it will just be nice to get a little free service out of MINI for a change. They really shouldn't complain, after 2 years of ownership they only had the fix the sunroof screen to keep it shut. Other than that they haven't had to spend any money on me at all. I even paid Robert to fix my timing chain tensioner because I didn't want to wait another 2 months for the dealer to get open and hope that the part didn't break. On a side note, they did have a pretty cool checkerboard dog collar and leash in there that looked pretty cool.

They are going to have live music and food and would love to see as many of us bring our cars as possible, classics as well are greatly appreciated. She said they are working on an inviatation today with all the info and as soon as I get it I'll send it out to you all via email.

As long as mine has been unwashed it will still require a bath.
