Old Business
Mike McMillan reported on their drive to Mini Meet East Meets West in Winona Minnesota, a three day journey to a large gathering of MINI and Mini enthusiasts.
Old into New Business
Michael Shuemaker presented a rough design of the club website he is planning out, and hopes to have a version up online for comment and finalization soon
Donna Kimble put forth a motion that the club set aside 150 dollars per annum for website setup and maintenance fees, which passed with a chorus of ayes.
Future drives and events-
This Saturday from 9 til 3p.m. is the Karns Car show with proceeds to help the repair and preservation of the Classic airplane-shaped gas station on Clinton Highway. For more information please call (865) 933-7158 or (865) 437-9980.
Also this weekend, on both Saturday and Sunday, the KnoxVolks club is helping put on the massive Volkswagen show at Chilhowee park, with proceeds from the show benefitting KARM
www.summerjamvw.com/August 7th, Donna Kimble will be leading a drive to see the ultra-rare Moonbow at Cumberland Falls KY. This promises to be a fun drive, as Donna hasn't planned out how to get back yet....
Alan and Rachel Rigby will lead the Mystery Drive along with the English Auto Society- a drive to the unknown (but really cool)destination over 250 miles of excellent motoring roads on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend. September 26th in Hendersonville, NC, the British Car Club of Western North Carolina will be holding the Autumn in the Mountains car show, with more info at
www.autumninthemountains.org/aitm_2009/index.htmlOctober sees the excellent Eurofest show at the BMW Zentrum in Spartanburg SC on the weekend of the 16-18th, with the show, a rally, factory tours, and several opportunities to drive new BMW vehicles. More info will be available as the show date nears.
Later that month, our own Donna Kimble will be organizing the club's Boo Run in Gatlinburg, so make sure to leave Halloween Saturday free on your calendar, as there is no event like this anywhere else.
Directly against this on the same weekend is the Chattanooga British Car Club's Choo Choo car show, although dedicated Motoring enthusiasts will note the possibility of showing in Chattanooga in the morning and hustling back to Gatlinburg in plenty of time for the Boo Run. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the ChooChoo hotel, so it's only twice as old as the Mini...
