hello all. I'm Michael. I'm in the Halls area of Knoxville - and am the proud NEW owner of my 2003 Cooper S named 'DASH'. When I said NEW, I meant it. I'm officially a MINI owner for a whole 2 weeks now. I love it so far, and look forward to my first MINI run. ;D HERE'S A PIC OF DASH>>>>>>>>>>>>> i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/clamshue/IMG_0364.jpg

Thanks! That was a lot of work. They were white when I bought DASH, but I sanded down each wheel just past the clear coat. I sprayed each wheel with 5 coats of dupli-color wheel paint - and then 2 coats of dupli-color clear coat. By the time I was done, I had over 8 hrs. in it - - but you can't beat it for ONLY $30 BUCKS and a bunch of ELBOW GREESE!!!

Yeah that looks nice, if my S-winders were 17" I would paint them gunmetal grey, but alas they are only 16"

I looked at your wheels via photobucket......
so what if they are only 16's.......GO FOR IT!
Can't tell from the pictures - but if your wheels are aluminum without a coat of paint -- it would be slightly more work. BUT, they sell a nice primer that bites really well to metal. AND, they have plenty of GUN METAL GREY at the Halls Autozone.
Pick some up - post the pics! lol ;D

Yeah the whole no garage, lug wrench and being my only car thing kind of hinders that. I like the look of my wheels and I believe that they are painted, but I want something in 17 and a little less weight. But ya never know, I may get excited one day and just go at it.

I guess I better follow along... Hey all!! I'm new here(like you couldn't tell!).... I have been Mini dreaming for many, Many years, and finally had an opportunity I couldn't pass up. Long story short, Last Saturday I took my Miata on a drive to Asheville with a wealth of knowledge following along(Thanks David!). A few hrs later we were back in Knoxville and I was home looking at my new ride!! It's a '68 Austin Mini!!! My Daughter calls it "Mini pooper". Not sure if that will stick(that sounds kinda gross...?) Anyway... I've requested my son to come up with a name and we're eagerly awaiting his proposal! It did great on the drive home and aside from a finiky Speedo, and missing a few minor bits, it's Awesome! Anyway, looking forward to some motoring and getting used to spirited driving wth FWD!!!

Hey Joe,
So this is what the Miata turned into? Very nice! You'll find this forum is a little slow compared to our other board. We'll have to get a few Minis together and do a Hwy 32 run or something.

Hey Mark! Yeah, a little slower, but not by much. I never really fit over "there". Loved the car, but that ruined the experience for me. Time to be more logical in my toys anyway. Yeah, I'm sure these folk have some nice drives, and we can share some as well!

Hi everyone, glad to see there is so much interest as of late. We are a great little group that has a pretty good time. A note on service; European Auto Garage in West Knoxville, and Eurotech in Powell are friends of the club and have serviced many of MINIs. Mine has been to European Auto for some mods and such and they are a great bunch of people. If you get one new enough to have a service warranty you are sort of out of luck without a trip. But there are people in the club with experience who may be willing to help or one of the above mentioned garages.
