If I ever make it to a meeting, Smidget and I are coming to join SMM. In fact I'm so sure I'm joining that I've already used the logo (you can charge me retroactively! ha) Anyway, the other dates had not worked for me, but I hope to be a Sir Gooney's on the 22nd. I got my mini back in Jan. at MINI of Nashville. It's a Pepper White S with the sports package, but no bonnet stripes. Black space cloth interior. I really, really enjoy driving it. It reminds me of the GTI I had in college, except on steroids.
Rides like it's on a rail! Like all four tires have glue on them!
But, man, the sports suspension is a beeeyotch on a rough road (read: 75% of Knoxville).
Anyway, I've customized a little with the addition of checkerboard rearview and side mirrors, driving lights and an iPOD interface--which is fantastic. I felt rather indulgent doing all that, but it's sure fun to be a little different.
Except, they forgot to re-attach my antenna when they did the interface. You'd think I would have noticed that, but I was so excited about listing to my iPOD that I didn't try the radio until the next day...
I don't have time to "pop" over to Nashville, so I'll probably wait until my 10,000 mile check-up to get it fixed.
Small p'taters in my opinion.
And way more information than you probably wanted. I must be in a chatty mood today.
