My wife's car is within 5 months of being paid for. That means after six years It will be my turn. Of course I plan on purchasing a MINI. Problem is I'm not sure what kind.
I would like a convertible but, I don't have a garage so that means it would always be in the weather. Is this a nono?
How much colder are they in the winter than a hard top? (I don't get along with cold Weather well.
I drove an 07 S yesterday and was really impressed with the power. Are the 06 and older supercharged models just as or close too powerful. I remember David and Donna saying they didn't handle as well. Can they be upgraded to handle as well.
I would probably be looking for a used car in order to keep payments down. What years from 02-06 would be the best? If there is one.

I'd say if you get a convertible get a car cover to prolong the top. I have an 07S and I love it. It has tons of power but with a turbo it does take a split second to get the power but once you do its great. In stock format the 07 and newer they ride up higher and are more comfortable. Apparently people complained about the hard run flats paired with the stiff suspension so in 07 they softened the suspension put on longer springs and left the run flats. I swapped the springs on my car for H&R springs that lowered it and made it look good while increasing the handling. I also swapped the sway bar for a larger bar that helped the handling. I haven't raced it or anything but I really can tell the difference on the dragon from before to now. I have been very happy with my 07 because of the gas mileage and the power. Well I did it I took the plung on a "new to me" '04 green S. Non vert I decided the sunroof was close enough. I'm sure I'm going to find some things that need to be touched up but the price was right for me.

found a couple of bits mising in the interior. The Tire Presure monitor is not working and neither is the dsc. Nothing I feel the need to fix asap. Love the Mini feeling again.

Not sure but It does not have a dragon sticker on it. So I assume that it has not been dragon broke.
