;D
YOHO
I snagged this from the Toronto club site - one of their own in England - visited a Mini showroom over there - his report:
Well, it finally happened...I went to the MINI/BMW in Blackrock and test drove the new '07.
For a cool €42k (CDN $62k+) you can own a nice MCS with the typical options...Yeah pretty expensive over here in the UK and Ireland. North America probably has it the best. (the US in particular.)
All the Minis will have a 6-speed tranny! MC & MCS
The engine bay is clearly open as ours are currently. (not covered up with plastic bits...first pics of the '07 were probably cover ups)
Tons of cool little tidbit features like Anti-roll back for when your stopped on a hill and you release the clutch.
Dual action sun roof!
Not a noticeable amount of extra boot space or leg room but apparently they claim there is.
Turbo whine really isnt that noticeable but probably when the engine is warmed up. You can hear the exhaust 'burble and pop' because of the turbo though only really when the car is warmed up.
I sat in the demo MCS in the parking lot with the full NAV system with leather interior and the armrest (fully loaded)...no price on it but i bet with the Canadian conversion would have been close to $70K-$75K easily. (Again, there is no way we will be seeing these high prices luckily!!!) Engine sounded pretty sweet.
I took tons of pics with a few side-by-side comparison of old and new. Ill post them when i get home.
(I grabbed a hand full of Mini brochures for whoever wants one.
;D ;D
I can not wait! I have heard that the MCS has a fuel pump leakage problem - a big ne that is not easy to solve. Could result in a delay in US sales and delivery.
